FAQS
Below are answers to my clients’ frequently asked questions. If there is something I’ve missed, please don’t hesitate to ask. For more information, get in touch. I look forward to meeting you soon.
What Is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a gentle, accessible & deeply relaxing hands-on therapy that involves the application of gentle pressure to different reflex areas on the feet or hands in order to support the body's own healing and revitalising processes.
In working holistically to calm the nervous system, reflexology is a wonderful form of stress-relief that can help to bring about a profound sense of calm, as well as supporting the effective functioning of the immune system.
What Should I Expect From Reflexology?
One of the most powerful effects of reflexology is its ability to help facilitate a state of deep calm and relaxation. By working to calm the nervous system, restore adrenal balance and support endocrine function, reflexology can help alleviate stress, reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and make us feel more at ease in ourselves. The calmer and more balanced we feel in ourselves, the better equipped our body is to nurture the conditions needed for symptom relief or healing to occur.

Your first reflexology treatment will include a short health and lifestyle consultation at the start of the session. This gives me the opportunity to find out about any areas of concern and to create a specific treatment plan tailored to meet your needs.
I will use my hands, fingers and thumbs to massage and apply gentle pressure to the ankles and feet. This enables me to find specific areas - the reflexes- that are sensitive or out of balance. Applying gentle pressure to these reflexes helps the nerve endings (7,200 of them in the feet) to be cleared of calcium crystals/ uric acid, to support the body to function properly.
Following your reflexology treatment you may feel more tired than usual so give yourself plenty of time to rest afterwards and drink lots of water to help get rid of any toxins that have been released during the treatment.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
This really depends on your individual circumstances as everyone is different and will respond in their own way to the treatment. This could be as often as, weekly, twice a week, once a month etc. For someone looking for support of with a chronic condition it can take up to 6 sessions before the cumulative effect of reflexology occurs. We will review and revise your treatment plan at regular intervals.
